Primr is a private network for athletes and veterans in business. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
When you create an account we collect your email address, the display name you choose, whether you’re a veteran, a former athlete, or both, an optional public background (like “Army” or “College lacrosse”), your interests, and your real name. Your real name is visible only to the Primr team. Members see your display name and a verified badge, never your real name.
To verify you, we ask for a link or a vouch: athletes can send a public roster page or their LinkedIn profile, veterans can send their LinkedIn profile, and anyone can ask a verified member to vouch for them. We never ask for a DD-214, VA ID or other service records. We delete what you sent once we’ve reviewed it and keep only your verification status.
We also store what you post (posts, replies, votes, reactions, reports, and Roster listings) and your points history. If you redeem a reward, we collect the name and shipping address you give us, and only the Primr team can see it. If you share pay information in Comp intel, it’s stored without being shown to anyone and appears only as combined ranges once at least three members have shared the same role. If you set up a career profile, we store what you add to it (like your name, email, phone, location, the work you’re looking for, experience, education, skills, and a resume PDF if you upload one). Other members can never see it. If you apply to a role, we store your application and note, and the employer’s stage and private notes on it. If you customize your profile, we store the photos, banner, headline, sections, links and song link you add; they’re visible to verified members. If you send direct messages, we store them so you and the other member can read them. Nobody else can read your messages, including the Primr team, unless you or the other member reports the conversation, which shares that one conversation with the Primr team so we can review it. If you sign in with LinkedIn, we receive your name and email from LinkedIn. If you reserved a seat on our homepage before the app opened, we kept the first name, email, and interests you gave us.
How we use it
- To run your account, verify you, and keep the community safe.
- To send sign-in emails, notifications you’ve turned on (like replies to your posts), the Monday brief, and occasional updates about Primr. You can turn off reply emails and the Monday brief on your profile.
- If you set up a career profile, to email you new roles that fit it (weekly by default). We match roles to your profile on our side; employers don’t see who was sent their role. You can change how often or turn it off on your career profile, or unsubscribe from the email.
- To ship rewards you redeem.
- To deliver direct messages and notify you about new ones (in the app and, if you allow it, on your phone).
- To understand what members want so we build the right things.
We do not sell or rent your information, and we don’t share it with advertisers. When you apply to a role, that employer (approved by the Primr team) sees your display name, verified badge, note, and your career profile, including your name, email, phone and resume. Only the employers you apply to see it, and if you withdraw your application they lose access. If you turn on Open to opportunities, approved employers can also find you and see your display name, verified badge, background, headline, “Ask me about” tags, the note you add, and your career profile without your name, email, phone, LinkedIn, employer names, schools or resume. They can save you to a list and invite you to their roles. Other members can’t see it, and you can turn it off at any time. We never give employers your verification details.
Who else handles it
We use a small number of service providers to run the site and store signups, currently Cloudflare (hosting), Supabase (database and sign-in), and Resend (email). They process data on our behalf and aren’t allowed to use it for anything else.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open. You can delete your account yourself from your profile at any time, which removes your personal information right away, or ask us and we’ll do it within 30 days. Posts and replies you wrote stay up, shown as “Former member.” Your profile photos and the direct messages you sent or received are deleted with your account.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information at any time by emailing hello@joinprimr.com. We’ll respond within 30 days.
